§ Sir John Osbornasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will give details of (a) the specific English language training assistance provided by the British Council to Namibians inside the territory in the last five financial years and (b) the estimated number of Namibians who have benefited from this training.
§ Mr. RaisonOur programme of assistance for Namibians resident within the territory has been administered not by the British Council but by the British embassy in Pretoria. It began in 1983–84, when one English language training award was made. Three further awards have been made this year.
