§ 63. Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about aid to Ethiopia.
§ Mr. RaisonIn response to the worsening famine our assistance has been concentrated on emergency relief. The cost of our help for Ethiopia over the two-year period ending last October was £15.5 million. Of this £7.8 million was contributed through the European Community. Since then we have committed about £14 million which will benefit directly those suffering from the drought in Ethiopia. Of this £3.7 million is going through the Community.
