Mr. Straw

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what progress is being made by his Department's consultant in respect of the route of the Blackburn to M6/M61 section of the M65 motorway.

Messrs. Howard Humphreys and Partners are carrying out the investigation necessary for them to produce the detailed report required by next autumn.
