HC Deb 14 January 1985 vol 71 c51W
Dr. Michael Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many people travelled daily from south-east Essex to London via the A13 in the latest year for which figures are available; and how this compares with five years earlier.

Mrs. Chalker

Data on the number of people travelling daily from south east Essex to London via the A13 are not collected by my Department.

However, the following estimates of annual average daily flow on the A13—both directions combined—for 1983 are readily available:

Number
Pedal cycles 200
Two-wheeled motor vehicles 1,000
Cars and taxis 21,000
Buses and coaches 400
Other goods vehicles 3,000
All motor vehicles 28,000
