§ Mrs. ChalkerThe A1 generally has a better than average safety record. But the 12 major schemes, either under construction or in preparation and listed in the last roads White Paper will all contribute materially to improving safety, as will the many smaller schemes also in hand. A number of other possible schemes are under consideration.
