§ Mr. John PattenWe have identified as a priority the funding of research into the causes of perinatal deaths, including stillbirths. At local level we would expect Maternity Services Liaison Committees to see that clinical reviews are carried out on perinatal deaths, so that any special factors that appear to be associated with the stillbirth rate of particular groups of mothers, including those from ethnic minority communities, can be identified.
