Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Norfolk, North on 30 January, Official Report, column 175–76, if he will give details of the aggregate pay bill for local government white collar and manual employees, including teachers, lecturers, police and firemen, for each of the years 1978–79, 1979–80, 1980–81, 1981–82, 1982–83 and 1983–84.
