HC Deb 25 February 1985 vol 74 cc79-80W
Mr. Robert Atkins

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what are the terms of reference for the appointment of the director-general of Information Technology Systems, the salary range, job specification and level of appointment within the Civil Service.

Mr. Lee

The Ministry of Defence is looking for candidates to fill an important new post to lead and co-ordinate the development of a corporate strategy for information technology in the Department and throughout the armed forces. Candidates are being sought from both the public sector and, with the help of an executive search firm, the private sector. The post will be at the level of grade 3 (under-secretary) at a salary of £30,800 pa including London weighting. I have placed a copy of the full job specification in the Library.
