HC Deb 25 February 1985 vol 74 cc83-4W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the growth in the volume of production since 1980 in the case of vegetables, fruit and non-edible horticultural products, respectively.

Mr. MacGregor

Because of the diversity of horticultural crops, trends in the volume of production are usually represented by valuing production at constant prices.

Value of Output at Constant 1980 Prices
£ million
1980 1981 1982 1983 *1984
Vegetables 560 534 575 539 607
