§ Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, as part of his planned future responsibility for strategic planning in Greater London, he will obtain and publish in the Official Report an estimate of the office space now vacant in central London and the equivalent figures for each of the preceeding two years.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneMy Department's planning research programme for 1985–86 includes a project to ascertain the 623W character and extent of offices in London and the south-east having regard to current and future rates of office demand. An estimate of office space vacant in central London is likely to form part of that project.
It will be for the London Planning Commission to advise my right hon. Friend on his future responsibility for strategic planning in Greater London. Their advice will be published.
