HC Deb 04 February 1985 vol 72 c463W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received from the chairman of the General Medical Services Committee expressing concern about the Government's decision on the General Practice Finance Corporation's net borrowing in 1985–86.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

I met representatives of the General Medical Services Committee on 16 January to discuss this subject amongst others. The corporation's net borrowing for 1985–86 is fixed at £22.5 million compared with £12.5 million as recently as 1983–84. I agreed to take note of the points made by the General Medical Services Committee in considering the position for future years.
