HC Deb 19 December 1985 vol 89 cc285-6W
Mr. Terlezki

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his policy on the sale of school playing fields in Wales for housing purposes.

Mr. Mark Robinson

The Government believe that all surplus land held by public authorities should be disposed of. It is for local authorities themselves to decide in each case whether land used for educational purposes is surplus to requirements.

Mr. Terlezki

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what acreage of school playing fields in Wales has been sold for development in the latest year for which figures are available.

Mr. Mark Robinson
