HC Deb 11 December 1985 vol 88 c660W
Mr. Body

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has given any advice or undertakings to horse slaughterers who are engaged in the export trade to France about the tests for tricinosis required since 12 November.

Mrs. Fenner

My Department has issued advice to exporters about the certification and testing arrangements required to meet the additional import requirements introduced by the French authorities. I have undertaken to relieve the industry of the cost of carrying out the examinations for trichinae. The EC Commission, at our request and that of other member states, are considering the validity of the French measures.
