§ Mr. David HuntIn the short time since Energy Efficiency Year was announced, private companies have shown a substantial level of interest. Over 170 events have already been planned by individual private sector organisations or companies acting together through their trade or professional associations. This is in addition to the substantial number of events being run by my Department, the nationalised fuel industries, universities, local authorities and chambers of commerce. As planning for the year progresses, we would expect private companies to account for an increasing proportion of events. We also expect the breakfast briefing sessions planned during the year to receive the same high level of support from private companies as the original series which finished in May 1985.
