HC Deb 10 December 1985 vol 88 cc611-2W
Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what assessment has been made by his Department of the impact on voluntary services in health and social services of the reduction in funding for the voluntary sector which will result from the abolition of the metropolitan counties and the Greater London council.

Mr. Whitney

We believe that adequate arrangements have been made by central Government to enable the boroughs and districts to support worthwhile voluntary sector activity following the abolition of the metropolitan county councils and the Greater London council. Decisions on the most effective use of available resources are for the local authorities concerned.
