HC Deb 10 December 1985 vol 88 cc573-4W
Mr. Grylls

asked the Prime Minister whether any decisions were taken at the European Council meeting at Luxembourg on 2 and 3 December on the threshold for value added tax; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

No, but I made the United Kingdom's position quite clear to the Commission in the context of our discussions on deregulation. I understand that it will be making new proposals in the near future. The Government will continue to press for member states to have greater flexibility in determining their threshold.
