HL Deb 10 December 1985 vol 469 c199WA
Lord Oram

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is their estimate, at the most recent convenient date, of the number of workers in the retail trades within the age-group 18–20 years old.

Lord Young of Graffham

It is estimated from the Labour Force Survey conducted in the spring of 1984 that there were 269,000 people in Great Britain, aged 18 and under 21, employed in retail distribution.
