HC Deb 05 December 1985 vol 88 cc301-2W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will state the mileage of trunk roads for which he is responsible in the London boroughs of Newham and Greenwich, respectively, and the sums he has expended on capital or maintenance purposes for these roads in each borough.

Mrs. Chalker

There are 5–5 km of existing trunk roads in Newham. During 1984–5, about £275,000 was spent on their maintenance. Contracts have recently been let to construct the A406 South Woodford to Barking relief road, some 2 km of which lies within Newham.

There are no trunk roads in Greenwich.
