asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what has been the percentage increase in funding for the Mid-Downs health authority, by year, for each of the last five years.

For the five years since the establishment of Mid-Downs as a health authority in 1982, the information is as follows:

  • 1982–83 1.5 per cent. Increase
  • 1983–84 no increase
  • 1984–85 no increase
  • 1985–86 0. per cent. Increase
  • 1986–87 projected 0.9 per cent. Increase

These represent cash increases. The real terms value of these additions was maintained by annual inflation increases.
