HL Deb 04 December 1985 vol 468 c1402WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What discussions, if any, they have held with other governments whose citizens' interests may be affected by the establishment of a fixed channel link, at what level, and over what period.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (The Earl of Caithness)

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Transport has kept his Netherlands and Belgian counterparts informed of developments. He and his French counterpart make regular statements in both the EC Council of Ministers and the European Conference of Ministers of Transport for the information of all member states.
