asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish the rate of notifications of tuberculosis among the population in the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire health district area for the last five years.

Mr. Whitney

Notifications of tuberculosis are made to the local medical officer of environmental health (proper officer) for each local government district, and are therefore generally not available for health districts.

The table shows the corrected notification rates for the county districts of Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport and Havant, all of which fall wholly within the boundary of the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire district health authority.
