Mr. Hancock

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many speech therapists are currently being trained; how many are in post; and where they are employed.

Information on the numbers currently being trained is not collected by the Department as oversight of training is delegateded to the College of Speech Therapy under the authority of the NHS (Speech Therapists) Amendment Regulations 1985 (SI 1985/47). The numbers in post and their location by Regional Health Authority are shown in the table.
