HC Deb 02 December 1985 vol 88 cc110-1W
Mr. David Young

asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) what action he intends to take to seek to obviate spray from high-speed heavy vehicles;

(2) by what date he intends all heavy vehicles to be fitted with anti-spray devices.

Mr. Ridley

In November last year we made regulations which require new lorries and existing heavy trailers to be fitted with anti-spray devices conforming to British standard BS AU 200 by various dates starting in May this year. All those falling within the scope of the regulations will have to be fitted by October 1987.
