HC Deb 18 April 1985 vol 77 c260W
Mr. Beith

asked the Prime Minister if she will seek to enact in statutory form in all British territories, including the United Kingdom, provisions similar to those included in chapter 1 of the "Constitution of the Falkland Islands, Protection of Fundamental Rights and Freedom of the Individual"; and whether she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

The constitutions of several of our dependent territories already contain a chapter providing for the protection of individual human rights. The Government have no plans to make provision with similar effect in respect of the United Kingdom.
