HC Deb 18 April 1985 vol 77 c252W
Mr. Beith

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what objections from third parties have been received by his Department in respect of an appeal against conditional planning permission by Castle Morpeth borough council for use of land for the temporary parking of caravans at land adjoining No. 1, Bus Row Cottages, Widdrington village.

Mr. Macfarlane

Three letters of objection have been received from residents of Bus Row Cottages. A petition of support signed by five residents of the caravan site has also been submitted.

Mr. Beith

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether any decision has yet been announced or taken as a result of the local inquiry held by his inspector at Morpeth on 10 April in respect of an appeal against an enforcement notice issued by Castle Morpeth borough council relating to the stationing of residential caravans at The Junction Inn, Widdrington.

Mr. Macfarlane

By agreement with the parties to this appeal, the inquiry scheduled for 10 April was cancelled because the council decided on 4 April to grant planning permission for an alternative site and the appellant consequently withdrew the appeal.
