We are not involved in the negotiations as the responsibility for teachers' pay rests with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science. I refer the hon. Gentleman to the reply my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Norwich, North (Mr. Thompson) on 19 March, at column777.
