HC Deb 31 October 1984 vol 65 c1066W
Mr. Beith

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, further to the assurances given by the Minister of State on 11 July, Official Report, column 1293, he has examined the extent to which a 75 per cent. cut in value added tax exemption in respect of listed buildings will exclude from relief buildings which ought to benefit from it.

Mr. Hayhoe

The review of the 75 per cent. test, as one of the tests required for sales or long leases of substantially reconstructed listed buildings to qualify for zero-rating, is not yet complete. Information on which to base the review has been slow in coming forward from individual redevelopers, but I hope tht the necessary figures will soon be forthcoming and allow me to complete the review.
