HC Deb 31 October 1984 vol 65 c1088W
Mr. Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what the 25p age addition to the pension paid to people over 80 years of age, introduced in 1971, is now worth in real terms; and if he plans to increase it.

Mr. Newton

The 25p age addition, introduced in September 1971, is now worth 6p in real terms at September 1984 prices. We have no plans to increase it.
