HC Deb 31 October 1984 vol 65 cc999-1000W
Mr. Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether any members of the advisory committee on the supply and education of teachers had experience of teaching blind or deaf children.

Mr. Dunn

I am not aware that any members of the committee have had such experience. The committee established a working group to help it to prepare a report on teacher training and special educational needs. I understand that members were invited to serve on the basis of a broad range of relevant experience and that no one was selected in the capacity of a teacher of blind or deaf children.
