HC Deb 30 October 1984 vol 65 c910W
34. Mr. Colvin

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many schools are designated also for cummunity use.

Mr. Dunn

The Department keeps no central record of schools which have been designated community schools by their local education authorities. However, the first results of a 1983 follow-up to an earlier survey of shared and extended use in England show that 79 per cent. of all schools were regularly used outside school hours in term-time in 1983.
