§ 31. Mrs. Rumboldasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how far he has progressed towards establishing national criteria for the major subjects in public examinations.
§ Sir Keith JosephMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales and I have commented on all the draft910W criteria for GCSE examinations prepared by the Joint Council of GCE and CSE boards. The Secondary Examinations Council and the Joint Council are revising the national criteria in the light of these and other comments and intend to submit revised criteria for approval by the end of the year. We intend to publish the national criteria early next year.
