§ Mr. Corbyn
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he proposes to visit Holloway prison.

§ Mr. Mellor
My right hon. and learned Friend has no plans to do so at present, but he is kept closely in touch with developments at the prison.

§ Mr. Corbyn
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many women in Holloway prison CI., psychiatric wing, are held incommunicado for over 20 hours per day.

§ Mr. Mellor
On 28 October four of the 37 inmates in C1 unit were locked in their cells for more than 20 hours. Three were restricted because of their mental state, and one as the result of a disciplinary award. None was deprived of the means to communicate at any time with a prison officer.
