Mr. Brooke

The information requested is as follows:

BA graduates Honours graduates
1981 133 37
1982 139 29
1983 158 41

Mr. Tom Cox

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what are to be the facilities to be given to disabled students to study for university degrees as a result of cutbacks of courses due to reduced funding of the Open University.

Mr. Brooke

The Open University is planning to increase the number of its courses for 1985. Its plans for 1986 are not yet finalised. I am informed by the university that the number of disabled students in 1985 is likely to be higher than in 1983.
