§ Mr. Allan StewartSelective financial assistance is not paid at fixed rates and is negotiated in each case. As announced on 17 October, provision is being made for applications for selective financial assistance received before the date of the announcement of the impending changes to regional assistance to be dealt with under the existing assisted areas map.
