Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what percentage of applications for legal aid at Kilmarnock sheriff court have been refused (a) in each of the last three years and (b) since the beginning of the miners' strike; and how these figures compare with the average figures for Scotland

The percentages of applications for legal aid refused at Kilmarnock sheriff court and at all sheriff courts in Scotland in each of the last three years are as follows:
