Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will publish an analysis of changes in civilian manpower in the royal dockyards, using a manpower definition consistent with table 3.7 of Cmnd. 9227–II, for the years 1979–80 to 1983–84, using the same categories as in note 5 in the Treasury's annual report on manpower reductions to the Treasury and Civil Service Committee.
