§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what mechanism is proposed to ensure that the south-east regional aggregates working party will assist London boroughs underlain with terrace deposits of sand and gravel to carry out their mineral planning responsibilities with due regard to wider issues including circular 21/82 and to liaise together where it is desirable for them to do so.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneIt will be for the London boroughs to decide how best to carry out their mineral planning responsibilities and to liaise together on wider issues. I am sure that the south-east regional aggregates working party will be glad to advise these boroughs, as it does other mineral planning authorities in the south-east.
