§ Mr. LuceFour British citizens are currently serving prison sentences, three following conviction in 1982 and one following conviction in 1984 for offences committed in Libya. A fifth has been charged but not yet brought to trial.
Four other British citizens have been in detention since mid-May without charges having been preferred against them. As I said in the reply I gave on 23 October to the hon. Member for Liverpool, Riverside (Mr. Parry) at column 547 we have made, and continue to make, use of every opportunity to pursue the release of the hostages.
