HC Deb 25 October 1984 vol 65 c702W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what adjustments were made by the London Docklands Development Corporation to the market price of land sold to housebuilders in the first phase of the private housing development at Beckton.

Sir George Young

I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Newham, North-West (Mr. Banks) concerning the temporary evacuation of one of LDDC's administrative offices.

Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) how many residents are now in occupation of new private housing in Beckton built on London Docklands Development Corporation-owned land; and how many of them were on the housing waiting list of the London borough of Newham;

(2) how many residents now in occupation in new private housing in Beckton built on London Docklands Development Corporation land come from the waiting lists of London boroughs other than Newham;

(3) how many residents occupying new private housing in Beckton built on London Docklands Development Corporation land were immediate previous tenants of the London borough of Newham.

Sir George Young

I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Newham, North-West (Mr. Banks) on 8 June at column 319. LDDC is conducting a survey to establish which of the new owners were immediate previous tenants of the London borough of Newham. I shall ask the corporation to make the results of this survey available to the hon. Member in due course.
