HC Deb 25 October 1984 vol 65 c651W
Mr. Nellist

asked the Secretary of State for Energy how much coal is presently stocked at power stations; and whether he has been informed by the Central Electricity Generating Board of plans to augment those stocks after 25 October.

Mr. Goodlad

The latest published figures are for stocks of coal at power stations in Great Britain at the end of August. These show stocks of 15½ million tonnes. The Central Electricity Generating Board has been doing all it can to conserve its coal stocks since the strike began. It has of course kept me informed of the broad position.
