HC Deb 23 October 1984 vol 65 c564W
Mr. Amess

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether his working party on child care law intends to take evidence from parents and children who have been involved in the current system of child care law.

Mr. John Patten

The working party has started its work on the basis of the report on children in care of the social services committee and the evidence given to it. It expects to seek some further help during the course of the review from knowledgeable practitioners and from groups, including those representing the interests of parents and children. On receipt of its report Ministers will wish to consult widely before decisions are taken. Interested bodies and individuals should write to Mr. R. Chapman, the secretary to the working party on child care law, DHSS, Alexander Fleming House, Elephant and Castle, London SE1 6BY.
