Mr. Shersby

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many complaints of unfair treatment or unwarranted infringement of privacy have been received by the Broadcasting Complaints Commission since it was set up in 1980; how many were considered to be within the commission's terms of reference; how many were upheld, partly upheld or rejected; and if he will publish the details in tabular form in the Official Report;

(2) how many cases were considered to be within the terms of reference of the Broadcasting Complaints Commission in each year since its creation under the
