§ Mr. Spearingasked the Prime Minister what is the current policy of Her Majesty's Government in respect of use by any Department of the counter services of the Post Office and what plans, proposals or policies she has for changing the level of this facility.
§ The Prime MinisterIt is the responsibility of the management of the Post Office to provide an efficient counter business which can offer good quality services at competitive prices. Government Departments currently use and will continue to use such services when they are the most cost effective way of meeting the requirement.
