HC Deb 22 October 1984 vol 65 cc409-10W
19. Mr. Gwilym Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many factories were allocated in Wales by Government agencies in the first six months of the current year; and how this compares with the comparable period in 1983.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

In the first six months of the current financial year the Welsh Development Agency, Development Board for Rural Wales and Cwmbran development corporation formally allocated a total of 202 factories comprising just over 1 million sq. ft. of factory space. This compares with a total of 214 factory units and 873,000 sq. ft. of space allocated in the same period of 1983–84.
