asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if his Department has information from the 1983 Scottish school leavers survey or other sources on success in obtaining first employment by social class.

The following table shows, for each social class, the percentage of school leavers from session 1982–83 in different categories of post-school activity in October 1983.
