HC Deb 29 November 1984 vol 68 c547W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what representations he has received from the Scottish Association of Citizens' Advice Bureaux concerning Government grants towards citizens' advice bureaux; and how existing Government funding in Scotland compares with that in England and Wales.

Mr. Fletcher

I have received written representations from the Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux and I met its chairman and other representatives on 17 July last to discuss the level of its grant-aid.

In 1984–85, the limit of grant-in-aid to the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux in England and Wales is £6.4 million. For Scotland the figure is £700,000.
