HC Deb 28 November 1984 vol 68 c509W
52. Mr. Litherland

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what further action he has taken on the implementation of the Housing Defects Act.

Mr. Gow

I refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Norwich, South (Mr. Powley) and to the hon. Member for Norwood (Mr. Fraser) on 12 November at columns 133–34.

62. Mr. Colin Shepherd

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he last met the Building Societies Association to discuss the Housing Defects Act.

Sir George Young

The Department's discussions with the Building Societies Association and the National House-Building Council about arrangements intended to enable building societies to lend with confidence on the security of repaired prefabricated reinforced concrete houses are continuing as a matter of urgency. My right hon. Friend hopes to make an announcement on the outcome of these discussions in the near future.
