HC Deb 26 November 1984 vol 68 c362W
Mr. Baldry

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on the progress being made with local authority organisations concerning non-advanced further education funding under the 'White Paper, "Training for Jobs."

Mr. Peter Morrison

In recent discussions between the new chairman of the Manpower Services Commission, Mr. Bryan Nicholson, and representatives of the Association of County Councils and the Association of Metropolitan Authorities, an agreement was reached about the basis upon which local education authorities will seek MSC support for their programmes of work-related non-advanced further education in 1985–86, and about a means of determining arrangements for later years in accordance with the White Paper "Training for Jobs" [Cmnd. 9135].
