asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the average weekly income of (a) men and (b) women in full-time employment in Great Britain as at April expressed in terms of modality.

The range (in units of £10) of gross weekly earnings for a full week containing the largest number of full-time employees on adult rates in Great Britain in April 1984 was, for males, £130 to £140 (covering 8 per cent. of such employees) and, for females, £80 to £90 (covering 12 per cent. of such employees).
