§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether the rate to be levied for London Regional Transport in 1985–86 will be consistent with the national rate poundage calculated for block grant purposes.
§ Mrs. ChalkerThe rate support grant report for 1985–86, which my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment will lay before the House shortly, will include details of a deduction from the national poundage schedule which will be used in calculating the grant entitlements of London authorities. The deduction will ensure that ratepayers in London are not disadvantaged compared to those elsewhere as a result of the transfer of responsibility for London Regional Transport.
